Dreaming of the death of a pastor is a sign that God is indeed preparing His servant for departure from this world. This is a sign that you are in the spirit, for no one can see these things unless they have been given access into the mind of God by His Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:10-11, Psalms 25:14).

Dreaming of the death of a pastor
These things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10-11

This dream may also mean that God is phasing out the old generation of His servants to bring in a new force into the kingdom. Their time has expired and therefore they need to step down lest they end up becoming a hindrance to the upcoming young servants.

The dream may also symbolize the end of a pastor’s task and not necessarily their physical death. A good example is that of Hezekiah princess of Judah. God spoke to Isaiah, the prophet to instruct Hezekiah to put his house in order since his days had expired and it was time to go home. We are not certain whether it was through a dream or vision, but one of them. (Isaiah 38:1-8).

Seeing the death of a pastor in a dream can also be a form of spiritual death. Especially if the man is not faithful in his calling, or is taking advantage of the church. The pastor might be carnal and unrepentant leading to spiritual death. It is important to understand the context of your dream for proper interpretation.

What you can do as a Christian.

  1. Pray for these pastors and their families.
  2. Intercede for the ministry that these pastors will leave behind, so that God may raise another faithful servant to take up the responsibility.
  3. In the case of the spiritual death of a pastor, please intercede that God may deliver them from their backslidden state. (Jeremiah 3:22).
