What will happen if you ignore a dream? Dreams are the means by which God conveys His divine Will to His people. The message is intended for a specific purpose, either for our protection, instruction, direction, warning, affirmation, or confirmation of God’s Will in our lives.
Dreams don’t just happen. There is a greater spiritual implication of every dream and the message they convey. Ignoring a dream is the equivalent of despising God’s sovereign Will which is passed in that specific dream.

If you believe nothing will happen when you ignore a dream, then you are wrong. Anything can happen and this will take you by surprise. God intends that dreams warn you of your recklessness and sinful ways lest you fall into a pit. (Job 33:14-18).
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children." Hosea 4:6
He can decide to reveal a dream to you to provide an escape from impending dangers of which you are not aware. If you ignore a dream, then these misfortunes will suddenly overtake you.

For example, God can warn you in a dream not to marry someone. Ignoring the warning means you will end up in a messed-up marriage and consequently lead to divorce. However, if you had listened to the instructions and warnings conveyed in the dream, none of that would have happened.
God warns and instructs us concerning every aspect of our lives since He is interested in our welfare. Be it finances, marriage, work, ministry, health, friendship, and all other aspects.
